What we learn - Reception

Reception is the first experience our children have of school and helps to lay the foundations for all the great learning that happens in Year 1 and 2.

It is great to see all our Reception children throwing themselves into their learning with such enthusiasm and energy. In Spring term, the children learned about Jack and the Beanstalk. They even got to grow their own beans – minus the giants!

These kinds of exciting lessons, combined with the hard work of our children, staff and parents sets them up for a great school experience. This is reflected in our progress assessments, where at the end of each year, the children are assessed on what’s called a ‘Good Level of Development’. We are proud to report that our results are higher than local, regional and national results.
